Delete your account

Export first, if you want a copy

Deletion keeps nothing back, so if you want your records — for your own files or for an accountant — export them before you start. Open History and use the export; it produces a CSV of your confirmed dividends. It is free and there is no limit on it.

What is deleted

Everything belonging to your account, in one go:

your account itself, your email address, display name and password;
every trade you recorded, and the holdings worked out from them;
every dividend calculated for you, and every amount you confirmed;
your income goal and any bills you added;
your alerts, and any device registered for notifications;
your sign-in sessions.

We keep no copy. Backups are overwritten on a rolling basis over a short period and are not used to restore a deleted account.

What is not deleted

Reference data about the market — which counters are listed and what dividends they have declared — stays. It is not personal data, it is identical for everyone, and removing it would empty the calendar for every other user.

If you cannot open the app

Email support@sapling.money from the address your account uses, with Delete my account as the subject. Sending it from that address is how we know the request is yours — we will not act on a request to delete an account from any other address, because doing so would let anyone delete anyone's records.

We will confirm and complete the deletion within two working days of receiving it, and write back when it is done.

Removing the app from your phone does not delete your account. Your records stay until you ask for them to go.
