Terms of use
Effective 21 September 2026. By using Sapling you agree to these terms. If you do not, please do not use it.
What Sapling is
Sapling is a record-keeping tool for dividend income from shares listed on Bursa Malaysia. You tell it what you hold; it works out which dividends you qualify for from publicly declared information, shows when they are due, and records what you confirm you received.
What Sapling is not
- It is not financial or investment advice. Nothing in it is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold anything. It does not assess whether any counter is worth owning. We are not licensed to advise on securities and we do not.
- It is not tax advice. Where it shows a position against a tax threshold, it is arithmetic over the dividends you recorded and nothing else. It knows nothing of your other income or your reliefs. Speak to a tax professional about your own position.
- It is not a broker and does not execute anything. It cannot buy, sell or transfer anything, and it never connects to your bank or your brokerage.
Accuracy
Dividend declarations come from public sources and can be late, revised or wrong. The figures Sapling works out from them are estimates until you confirm what actually reached your account, and figures shown as estimates are marked as such. You are responsible for checking anything you rely on — particularly anything you file.
We give no warranty that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any figure in it is correct.
Names and data
Sapling is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or connected to Bursa Malaysia Berhad or any counter listed on it. “Bursa Malaysia” and the names of listed companies are used only to describe which market and which shares Sapling records dividends for, and they remain the trademarks of their respective owners.
Market and dividend data comes from third-party public sources. It is not an official exchange feed and it is not licensed market data from Bursa Malaysia Berhad.
Your account
- Give an email address you control, and keep your password to yourself.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- You may delete your account at any time, in the app or as described on the account deletion page. Deletion removes everything and cannot be undone.
Acceptable use
Do not:
- attempt to access anyone else's account or data;
- probe, scrape or overload the service, or try to get around its limits or its security;
- use it to break the law, or to do anything that would harm other users.
We may suspend or close an account that does any of these, and will tell you why unless we are prevented from doing so.
Cost
Sapling is free to use. If paid features are introduced, the records you have already made stay free and accessible, and any price will be stated clearly before you are asked to pay anything.
Ending it
You can stop using Sapling whenever you like, and delete your account with it. We may withdraw or change the service, or close an account for a breach of these terms. If we withdraw the service altogether we will give reasonable notice so you can export your records first.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for investment losses, tax outcomes, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of Sapling. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page changes when we do, and if a change materially affects you we will say so in the app before it takes effect.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and the courts of Malaysia have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
